We recently sat down with Drew aka @Trashtalks aka Boy with the glowy skin, who is a content creator who gets to enjoy his passion for self-care and skincare through sharing it with others.

Drew has a youtube channel that he started when he saw that there weren’t many platforms that promoted self-care for men of color. 

Since a young boy Drew was always taught the importance of maintaining self-care and presenting yourself accordingly. “ My grandmother was the one who instilled in me the importance of one’s self-care and taking care of oneself. She gave me quarantine tips before Quarantine”.  

The flame sparked in highlighting his passions on Youtube when he realized how it became mentally satisfying for him. It provided him with saving grace and allowed him to take small efforts to connect to himself creating self-love and2 motivation. Once the ball started rolling, Drew started sharing his skincare techniques and topics on youtube 4 years ago and has not turned back since. 


When it comes to his drive and why he keeps at it, Drew says ”Beyonce!”, “Beyonce truly inspired my hustle as far as coming through with content and being comfortable telling my story”.

how Do YOU become an influencer?

 

“Consistency,” says Drew.  After getting comfortable posting his personal routines and regimes Drew became more comfortable talking about brands and why they were beneficial. Then the Fenty empire dropped Fenty Skin! One day Drew got his hands on Fenty Skin’s new 3 set collection and posted a review video. In this video, he expressed his love for the brand and how he used it in his daily regime. In this video, he also expressed how he would love to be an ambassador for the brand. Later the brand reached out to him about their newest drop and how they would like to have him as an ambassador for the skincare brand, and of course that comes with great perks! Since he’s been reviewing brands and sharing how he used them in his daily life, other brands that we know and shop at have reached out to him to be an influencer/ambassador for their brands.
